Ways to protect your privacy when selling your home

It is stressful enough when you invite family and friends to your home not to mention when you put your home on the market and now people you have never met will be coming in your home. Here are a few things to do to keep your privacy while strangers are viewing your home.

Tip #1: You want to make sure you put anything away that has your full name, address and a company name on it such as bills. Also make sure that you don’t have diplomas or marriage memorabilia up that will give strangers your information they can use to open accounts or hack yours. Take down any personal information about your kids or other family members as well.

Tip #2: Make sure you lock up prescription medications so that strangers can’t take them or use your information to get medicines with.

Tip #3: Don’t leave your computer/tablet/phone where a stranger can access it and get information off of it to use.

Tip #4: Talk to your State Wide Realty agent about how you would like showings to go as far as the agent walking with the customers or allowing them to go explore on their own.
